Man Accused Of Pawning Roommate's Engagement Ring From Deceased Husband

EVESHAM Twp., NJ (CBS) – Police say a man was arrested after he allegedly stole an engagement ring from his roommate, which was given to the victim by her now deceased husband.

Authorities say on August 5, they responded to the 600 block of Magnolia Court for a reported theft that occurred weeks before.

Police say the woman reported the ring was given to her by her spouse, and was very special to her.

Officials say through pawn records, officers determined that one of the victim's roommates sold the $5,000 ring for $110 at a local pawnshop.

Officers recovered the ring and returned it to the woman.

Police say 29-year-old Westley Schuyler, of Marlton, was charged with 3rd degree theft and arrested at his residence.

Authorities say he was released after posting bail.
