Friday Night Kickoff For DelVal Football At Wilkes
By Matt Leon
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It will be a prime time showcase for the Division III Delaware Valley University Aggies on Friday night as they visit Wilkes in their Middle Atlantic Conference opener.
The Aggies kicked off their season in style last week, as they held off Montclair State in Doylestown, 27-24.
"Really happy, really excited," DelVal head coach Duke Greco tells KYW Newsradio. "It was a great win for us. I was so proud of the guys, they put forth a great effort. The upperclassmen, they really set the tone for where the program's going and where they are going to take this team this season."

The win represented the Delaware Valley University debut for junior quarterback Danny Farley. The transfer from Rhode Island completed 21 of 34 passes for 215 yards. He did throw an interception, but also ran for a score. Greco says he did a good job against a very good Montclair defense.
"I thought offensively, as a whole, we were very inconsistent," Greco says. "But Dan, in his first college start, was consistent. I thought he made good decisions throughout the day. He was a little reckless a couple times, but for his first start, I couldn't be happier."
Last year, when DelVal and Wilkes got together, it was an offensive showcase with the Aggies winning, 54-35, in Doylestown.
"They're pretty good on offense," Greco says. "They use a lot of tempo, so it is tough for us defensively. But we just need to go up there and play our game. We're going to slow the game down a little bit and lean on our defense and hopefully come out of there with a W."
Wilkes opened its season last week with a 35-7 loss to Muhlenberg College.
