New York State Police launch safety operation on Southern State Parkway
The Southern State Parkway is widely considered one of the most dangerous highways in New York. Officials on Friday launched what they are calling "Operation Southern Shield," which aims at increasing police presence across the corridor, cracking down on distracted and impaired drivers.
