Discus thrower statue unveiled at new home on Randall's Island
A historic statue has a new permanent home on Randall's Island. The discus thrower statue was originally created for the 1924 Paris Olympics and commissioned for the Met two years later. The sculpture has since been restored and now stands at the plaza at Icahn Stadium.
