Shawn Custis was convicted June 1 of aggravated assault and other crimes for the 2013 attack in Millburn.
Shawn Custis, 43, appeared before a judge at his arraignment in Newark on Tuesday morning. Authorities said Custis broke into the Millburn home on June 21, 2013 and beat a mother of two for nearly 10 minutes.
Shawn Custis, 42, was arraigned Tuesday on charges of attempted murder, robbery, burglary and child endangerment.
An hour after warrants were issued for his arrest, Shawn Custis was arrested Friday along 10th Avenue in the Inwood section of Manhattan by FBI agents.
