After days of uncertainty, Puerto Rico Gov. Ricardo Rosselló said he is resigning Friday as planned and his nominee, Pedro Pierluisi, will be his replacement.
Puerto Ricans have been outraged ever since chat messages leaked earlier this month between the governor and his inner circle that included profane, homophobic and sexist comments.
Rosselló announced Sunday night he will not seek re-election, but stopped short of resigning.
New York state Gov. Andrew Cuomo said Thursday that the state is sending hundreds of utility workers and trucks to Puerto Rico to fix the country's electrical grid.
