More than 200 people in the Tri-State Area have now tested positive for the coronavirus.
Within the containment area in New Rochelle, large gathering places will be closed for two weeks, officials said. That includes schools, temples, churches, and the like, officials said.
With the coronavirus cases in New York doubling in the last 24 hours, Gov. Andrew Cuomo has declared a state of emergency to unlock certain government powers to handle the outbreak -- but testing kits remain in tight supply.
The majority of the cases are in Westchester County.
