The 35-year-old Capuano was 1-1 with a 4.55 ERA in 28 relief appearances for Boston, which released him July 1. He was 1-0 with a 2.79 ERA in four starts for the Rockies' Triple-A and Double-A affiliates.
The 34-year-old Babin is expected to be a pass-rushing specialist. He was wearing No. 58 on Friday and listed as a linebacker, though he has also played defensive end.
"You don't put much stock in them," he said of the exhibition games. "But you need them to get ready. If you want to play at a high level consistently, you have to have that game shape, that football shape."
