Zagat Restaurant Guide: Le Bernadin Takes Top Spot For 8th Year In A Row
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Zagat Restaurant Guide is out with its annual list of the very best restaurants in New York.
Topping the list is Le Bernadin, a legendary spot for seafood right in the heart of Midtown.

It is the eighth year in the row the French restaurant has topped the Zagat list, sweeping Top Food, Top Service, Most Popular, Top French and Top Seafood categories, according to Zagat.
Coming in second is Bouley, Chef David Bouley's namesake restaurant in Tribeca. This new-French eatery is described as serving up culinary wonders in an opulent setting.
Other top mentions include Jean-Georges at Central Park West, Gotham Bar and Grill in the West Village, Peter Luger Steakhouse and Gramercy Tavern.

There were some fresh newcomers also making a splash on this year's list. Taking the top spot was Kinglsey, serving up French-American fare in the East Village. Other notable newcomers include High Street on Hudson, of Hudson Square, Indian Accent, in Midtown, and Llama Inn, of Brooklyn, among others.
NYC Restaurant Openings: New For Fall 2016
The Zagat Restaurant Guide evaluates more than 2,000 restaurants across the city covering 98 different types of cuisine. The top picks are determined through surveys of more than 31,000 local diners.
For a more in-depth look at notable eateries across the city, check out Zagat's "Tiny Cafe" popup on Astor Place from Oct. 27 to Oct. 29. Visitors will be able to sample bites crafted by some of the top chefs in the city.
