The exhibit is called "The Artwork of John Lennon," and is on display at 72 Green Street.

In an interview with 1010 WINS, Ono said it's significant that the show is taking place in New York on Lennon's birthday.

"New York is very special in that sense. People are very hip and they understand about John's work in a very different way from any other city."

"Soho -- that's very John. John would have loved it that [the exhibit] it's in Soho," Ono said.

As for the art work on display, Ono said, "It just gives you a kind of a nice feeling, a warmth shall we say -- because that was John.  John had an incredible warmth and that shows in his work."

The exhibit runs through Monday. Admission is free, but there is a suggested donation of $3 which will benefit Citymeals-on-Wheels.
