70-Year-Old Woman Visiting NYC For Christmas Killed By Hit-And-Run Driver, Suspect Still At Large

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – A 70-year-old woman struck by a hit-and-run driver in Brooklyn has now died.

The crash happened around 1:30 p.m. Friday afternoon on Flatlands Avenue and East 76th Street in Canarsie.

The woman was taken to Brookdale Hospital where she died.

Police sources tell CBS2 the victim was from Florida and was visiting her son for the Christmas holiday.

She reportedly stepped out to go to the store for a loaf of bread when she was killed.

Police say the driver was in a black Nissan Maxima with tinted windows. They are still looking for that vehicle.
