Website Details New York Album Cover Histories Of Famous Artists

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- You might not think the fence and brick wall on the corner of Sullivan and West 3rd Street has anything to do with Rock and Roll history, but it does.

It's where Neil Young's album "After the Goldrush" was photographed.

The fact is one many compiled by Bob Eagan, who runs the website popspotsnyc.com.

Eagan tracks down where album covers and photos were staged and puts the cover exactly where it was taken to show people the exact spot, 1010 WINS' Terry Sheridan reported.

He told Sheridan that one of his most rewarding finds was the photo for Bob Dylan's single "I Want You" was shot.

"There was a street that was wiped out four years after they took the picture -- like 45 years ago. It's this tiny little street with a bend in it and it's just next to the Brooklyn Bridge -- totally gone now," Eagan said.

Eagan also details the album art histories of many other artists, including The Who, Steely Dan and Bruce Springsteen.
