Video Of The Day: Deer Chases Man Into Upstate Store

NIAGARA, N.Y. (AP/CBS 2) -- The produce section at a western New York supermarket turned into the wild kingdom over the weekend.

A spokeswoman for the Rochester-based Wegmans supermarket chain says a deer dashed through the entrance to its store in the town of Niagara Sunday morning and romped through the produce section before employees herded it out an emergency exit.

Ann McCarthy tells The Associated Press Monday that a doe and a fawn first crashed through a window at a vacant store near the supermarket. She says the doe then ran into the Wegmans as the fawn headed off in another direction.

McCarthy says no employees or customers were hurt.

The store was closed for about two hours as employees cleaned up the mess and threw away any food the deer may have touched.
