Victim In LI Club Shooting Was Bodyguard To Celebs

HAMPTON BAYS, N.Y. (AP) -- The 64-year-old victim of a nightclub shooting in the Hamptons was a retired court officer who occasionally worked as a bodyguard to celebrities.

Carlo Petrusa, of Riverhead, was one of two men wounded during a fight early Friday at the Dream Night Club in Hampton Bays on eastern Long Island.

His brother, Richard Petrusa, tells Newsday that he had provided security over the years for the publicist Lizzie Grubman, the singer Fergie and other famous folks visiting the Hamptons.

The shooting happened during a Halloween party. Southampton Town police say the killer was dressed like one of the bank robbers in the film, "Dead Presidents."

Another man wounded in the shooting, Shawn Badgett, was not seriously hurt.

The New York Daily News says Badgett was the party's host, and has a history of legal problems that include pending charges in a major heroin distribution case.
