U.S. Open: Best Queens Restaurants To Visit

Fans of the US Open don't have to go far in order to try some of the best spots in Queens. Here are five restaurants, kiosks, and vendors you won't want to miss. By Carly Petrone.

Whoever said there isn't any good Mexican food in NYC hasn't been to Tortilleria Nixtamal in Queens. All of their tortillas, salsas, soups, fillings, and toppings are made fresh daily, so you know you're getting the real deal. Nosh on a batch of guacamole and house-made chips before digging into one of their traditional platters. Some of our favorites include the Sincronizada (that's a double layered quesadilla with beans, queso Oaxaca, and filling of your choice topped with salsa verde, lettuce, crema, and pico de gallo), Chipotle Tamales and Elote (fresh sweet corn with crema). Wash it all down with some horchata, aguas frescas, or Mexican Coke.

Fu Ran Restaurant is open until midnight, so you don't have to worry about missing out on their dumplings after a long match. Try their Cabbage and Pork or Lamb and Carrot Dumplings – they don't disappoint.  End your meal with a plate of Mixed Sweet Potato, Taro, and Apple – we promise you've never had anything like it.

You can't go to the US Open without stopping at Benfaremo, the Lemon Ice King of Corona. This kiosk, run by the Benfaremo family, has been serving up the best Italian ices for more than 60 years. If you've never been before, definitely try their classic lemon flavor or any other of their 50 kinds. They have everything from coconut and almond, to mint chocolate chip and peanut butter. Sugar-free versions are also available in lemon, chocolate, cherry, and orange. Cool off with one of these and you may just want to buy a gallon to-go!

If you're looking for something quick and cheap than a stop at White Bear is your answer. Their best known for their delicious dumplings – choose between Chinese Cabbage, Dumpling with Leek, Pork Shrimp Sea Cucumber, Dumpling with Vegetables, or Dumpling with Hot Sauce (all $5 and under). Feel free to order one of the Wonton Soup options Peking Style Noodle. You really can't go wrong. Get a Sesame Rice Ball to go – you can thank us later.

Finally, you barely have to leave your seat in order to get some serious grub because the stadium itself is offering quite the selection of food from regional vendors. Stroll through the US Open Food Village and order anything from a special Fuku Fried Chicken Bacon Ranch Sandwich to a Pastrami Sandwich piled high from Carnegie Deli. Got a sweet tooth? Pick up your favorite ice cream scoop over at Ben & Jerry's or perk up with an iced coffee from the Lavazza Café. Of course you can also cheers to your favorite player over at the Grey Goose Bar with their signature drink, "The Honey Deuce."
