The Polo Grounds: Then And Now

NEW YORK (WCBS 880) - The San Francisco Giants have won the World Series, beating the Texas Rangers in five games.

Of course, the San Francisco Giants were once the New York Giants. You can see the old New York Giants logo above. It looks quite a lot like the current New York Mets logo.

The Giants' final season in New York City was 1957 and they played at the Polo Grounds in upper Manhattan.

The Polo Grounds were demolished in 1964. What's there now? Apartment buildings. Check out the "then" photo from sometime between about 1923 and 1957 and the "now" photo taken this morning by WCBS 880's Tom Kaminski in Chopper 880. Click them to see full-size images.
