Witnesses said the driver appeared visibly shaken as he emerged from the car.

"The driver was very disoriented, looked really upset. He said he was injured. He came out of the car," Rivas said.

The injured pedestrians were taken to several area hospitals, including Bellevue.

The child was said to be in critical condition. The conditions of the other pedestrians were not immediately known. will provide updates on this developing story as soon as they become available.
