NYPD Releases Surveillance Video Of Suspect In R Train Needle Attack

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police have released video of a suspect who stabbed a woman with a needle on a subway platform this week.

The woman, who does not want to be identified, said the man bumped into her Wednesday night at the 49th Street and Seventh Avenue R train station.

The 37-year-old woman said she felt a sharp pain in her arm and later noticed a puncture wound.

"He just looked like a guy getting off of work," the woman said. "And I went back to looking at my phone, and I felt, like, this really sharp, like, pain on my right shoulder-blade."

The woman went home and then to a hospital.

"I went to the emergency room. The doctors confirmed that I was punctured with something," she said.

Doctors have prescribed the victim a massive course of antivirals for HIV, Hepatitis B and other illnesses.
