St. Vincent's Won't House Urgent Care Center
GREENWICH VILLAGE, N.Y. (CBS 2) -- A plan to bring urgent care to the now-closed St. Vincent's Hospital in Greenwich Village fell through on Friday.
The plan would have allowed another hospital to renovate and reopen the St. Vincent's Emergency Room as a care facility, but St. Vincent's and North Shore Long Island Jewish Hospital failed to reach an agreement.
The center will instead be build eight blocks north on West 20th Street, still leaving the Village without an acute care facility.
