33-Pound Cat, Sprinkles, Needs To Lose Weight Before Going Up For Adoption

SEA ISLE CITY, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- She's fat, fabulous and looking for a home.

Sprinkles, a south Jersey cat, weighs in at 33 pounds. If she were a human, Sprinkles would tip the scales at 600 pounds, CBS2 reported.

Her owners gave her up when their home was foreclosed on last week.

The domestic short-haired cat will eventually go up for adoption once she sheds the weight.

The 4-year-old cat is currently on a diet of four cans of cat food a day.

S.O.S. Sea Isle City Cats, the nonprofit group that is caring for the cat, believes it will take up to a year and half to get Sprinkles back to a normal weight.

If she loses the weight, a veterinarian has offered to give the cat a tummy tuck, according to a report in the Press of Atlantic City.
