Search On For Suspect In Robbery Of Woman In The Bronx
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police on Tuesday were asking the public to help them find a suspect in the robbery of a woman in the Bronx.
Around 8:10 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 3, the man grabbed a 55-year-old woman at Croes and Westchester avenues, on the northern edge of the Soundview section of the Bronx, police said.
The suspect punched the woman in the face and stole $500 and a cell phone, police said.
The man then ran off.
The suspect was described as a black male with a slim build, standing about 5 feet 9 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a black jacket, and a black hooded sweat shirt with a white scarf covering his face, police said.
He spoke in a West Indian or African accent, police said.
Police have released a surveillance image of the suspect.
