Report: Packers' John Dorsey In Mix For Jets GM Job
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- A new name has surfaced in the Jets' general manager search.
Packers director of football operations John Dorsey will interview with the team this weekend, according to Jason La Canfora of CBSSports.com.
Other candidates reported to be in the mix for the vacancy include Atlanta Falcons director of player personnel Dave Caldwell; 49ers director of player personnel Tom Gamble; Giants director of college scouting Marc Ross; and former Browns general manager Tom Heckert.
Caldwell will interview on Friday, according to Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News.
Mike Tannenbaum was fired on Monday as general manager after a tumultuous 6-10 season.
"Like all Jets fans, I am disappointed with this year's results," owner Woody Johnson said in a statement. "However, I am confident that this change will best position our team for greater success going forward."
Ryan, currently relaxing in the Bahamas, has not yet commented on the dismissal of Tannenbaum. He's scheduled to hold a press conference with Johnson on Tuesday.
