Report: NJ Utilities Need To Do More During Outages
TRENTON, NJ (CBSNewYork) -- New Jersey's utility companies have been slammed in a new state report.
Hundreds of thousands of customers lost power during Hurricane Irene in August and again during the freak October snowstorm.
Some people were in the dark for more than a week.
The report says PSE&G, JCP&L, Atlantic City Electric and Rockland Electric must take immediate action to improve performance during outages.
That would include adding staff during storms and using social media to reach out to customers.
