Report: Jets' Jeff Cumberland To Miss Sunday's Game With Concussion

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Jets will face a very difficult challenge when they host quarterback Drew Brees and the Saints on Sunday at MetLife Stadium.

New Orleans not only has an explosive offense, but its defense has been very effective under new coordinator Rob Ryan.

So it won't help matters that Jets tight end Jeff Cumberland will not be on the field.

According to the New York Daily News, Cumberland will miss this weekend's game with a concussion.

The 6-foot-4, 260-pounder left Sunday's game against the Bengals in the third quarter with a head injury and never returned. He caught one pass for nine yards before departing.

Gang Green is thin at the tight-end position. Kellen Winslow, who caught two touchdown passes in five game this season, is currently serving a four-game suspension for violating the league's policy on performance-enhancing substances.

He's eligible to return on November 17 against Buffalo.

Zach Sudfeld and Konrad Reuland are the other tight ends on the Jets' active roster.

In eight games this season, Cumberland has caught 15 passes for 248 yards and two touchdowns.
