NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The Darrelle Revis watch is officially on.
The Jets are "poised" to trade the NFL's top cornerback "in the coming days at the right price," according to the New York Daily News.
And it seems there's at least one legitimate deal out there. New York has a "good" offer on the table for Revis, according to ProFootballTalk.com.
Revis has been rehabbing from a torn ACL suffered early in the 2012 season. The 27-year-old will become an unrestricted free agent after the upcoming season if he doesn't skip any mandatory team activities.
He'll be looking to sign one of the NFL's most lucrative contracts for a defensive player — something Jets owner Woody Johnson reportedly isn't willing to offer.
The offer was described as "good" as far as "the compensation given to the team and the financial package that would be extended to Revis," Pro Football Talk reported.
According to Yahoo! Sports, Jets general manager John Idzik hasn't given Revis' agents the go-ahead to talk with clubs wondering whether the cornerback is healthy and willing to be more than just a one-year rental, hindering potential deal-making.
The Jets and Revis' representatives "haven't talked for weeks," and there "has been almost no contact" between Idzik and the four-time Pro Bowler, Yahoo! Sports reported.
The market for Revis could shrink considerably once teams fill their needs via free agency. The market officially opens on Tuesday at 4 p.m.
"I think (the Jets are) going to move Revis," a source told the Daily News. "Bet it. If he isn't traded by tomorrow, Idzik is an idiot. One buyer might dry out. He has to move him. The risk of keeping him kills the franchise for five years and Idzik is gone."
Johnson wouldn't comment Monday on the Revis situation.
"I'm going to answer those questions (at the league meetings) next week," the Jets owner said.
The Jets released veteran nose tackle Sione Pouha on Tuesday, according to ESPN. The team will save $3.8 million against the salary cap.
