Report: City Council Drafting Bill That Could Ground Helicopter Tours
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The New York City Council is reportedly drafting a bill that could permanently ground helicopter tours in the five boroughs.
The bill has not been introduced yet, but owners of the company have been contacted, according to a Daily News exclusive.
The measure is based on noise complaints from residents in several communities, the Daily News reported.
Currently, the business brings in about $33 million to the city and employs around 200 people. It operates out of the lower Manhattan heliport.
