"By the end of next year, you're going to have a 10-mile stretch that's really going to be fun to kayak and canoe in and do some good fishing," said state Department Of Environmental Protection spokesman Larry Ragonese. "It's going to significantly improve the environment of the river. For the first time in a long time it's going to become fish spawning habitat."
The first dam in Bridgewater is being removed now. The DEP is expecting to take out the other two by the end of next year.
