Arrest Made After Pedestrian Killed, 3 Injured In Queens Accident

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police have arrested a woman in connection to a fatal hit-and-run crash that left one pedestrian dead and three others injured late Thursday night.

The accident happened around 6:30 p.m. at Junction Boulevard near the Long Island Expressway service road, on the cusp of Corona and Rego Park, Queens the FDNY told CBS2.

According to police, a black Porsche SUV was traveling west on the Horace Harding Expressway service road at a high rate of speed when its driver lost control, hit a tree and the sidewalk, and then hit a 21-year-old woman in the crosswalk and a 26-year-old woman on a bicycle.

The driver went on to hit two more vehicles, including a green borough taxi, police said.

The 46-year-old driver of a Mini Cooper the SUV struck was taken to Elmhurst Hospital Center, while the 26-year-old driver of the Toyota Camry green taxi was treated at the scene and released, police said. The bicyclist suffered head and shoulder injuries.

The 21-year-old woman was taken to Elmhurst Hospital where she died.

The names of the victims were not immediately known.

Irene Lee, 56, the alleged Porsche driver at the time of the crash, was arrested Friday in connection to the incident, police said.

She is facing charges of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in death and disobeying a red light.
