Prosecutor: New Milford Man Charged With Animal Cruelty For Shooting Goose With Arrow
NEW MILFORD, N.J. (CBSNewYork) -- A man was arrested on animal cruelty charges after authorities say he used a crossbow and arrows to shoot and injure a goose at a pond in New Milford.
Bail is set at $10,000 for 49-year-old John Hall, who was arrested Wednesday. Authorities say on March 4, Hall shot a Canadian goose with an arrow at the Hard Castle Pond in New Milford.
The arrow went through the webbed portion of the bird's left foot. The goose was rescued by the Bergen County Animal Shelter and has been receiving treatment for the injury.
Hall is set to appear in court on Friday. He faces up to 18 months in prison if convicted.
