NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Later this month, the Port Authority will be sending out requests for design proposals for the observation deck atop the new One World Trade Center.

It will be three glass-enclosed floors - the 100th, 101st and 102nd.

"We think, frankly, that the One World Trade Center observation deck is going to be the leading observation deck experience in the world, period," said Port Authority Executive Director Patrick Foye. "We expect there's going to be robust interest from companies in the United States and internationally."

Foye says this time around, there are no plans to have any of the floors open to the air.

In the old Twin Towers, the observation deck consisted of a windowed 107th floor experience and then the 110th floor experience outside on top.

Foye says he's intent on making it a financial success for the Port Authority.
