Police: Man Made Off With $25,000 Watch From Tourneau Retail Store

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Police were on the hunt Wednesday night for a suspect who stole a pricey Rolex watch from the Tourneau store at Columbus Circle.

Around 3 p.m., the man walked into the Tourneau retail outlet at 10 Columbus Circle and asked to see a Rolex Day Date II watch.

A sales associate took out the watch and placed it on the suspect's wrist. The suspect ran off with the watch, police said.

A photo of the 18K yellow gold watch was released by police. The Tourneau Web site indicates its price as $25,000.

Police also released a surveillance photo of the suspect, who was described as wearing a yellow shirt and a Miami Heat baseball cap.

Anyone with information was asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS, log onto the Crime Stoppers Web site, or text tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and enter TIP577.
