Police Make Arrest In Car Crash That Killed Christina Lembo Of Bloomfield
NEWARK, N.J. (CBSNewYork) - Prosecutors announced the arrest of a man they said was driving the car that struck another vehicle Sept. 29, that left a Bloomfield teenager dead. Christina Lembo, 16, was killed in the crash.
Nicholas Comasco, 23, has been charged with vehicular homicide and aggravated assault by auto.
Comasco surrendered to authorities Thursday. He is being held on $100,000 bail.
Lembo was riding in a Honda Civic that was hit by a Camaro at around 11:10 p.m. Four other people - two in each car - were also injured.
"As the investigation progressed, facts were developed that warranted the filing of charges," said Chief Assistant Essex County Prosecutor Thomas Fennelly. Investigators previously said they were looking into several possible causes for the crash, including possible drag racing by the Camaro.
Hundreds of people gathered to say a final farewell to Lembo last Friday.
