MTA's 'Poetry In Motion' Is Pure 'Heaven' For Some

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - When was the last time a subway poster got you choked up?

For WCBS 880's Jane Tillman Irving, it was recently, when she saw the poem "Heaven" by Patrick Phillips.

"Heaven" is part of the MTA's "Poetry In Motion" series.

"Heaven" was written about 10 years ago, inspired by the death of Phillips' father-in-law following a long battle with cancer.

"That was sort of what was going around in my head was the notion that what a beautiful idea it was that we might all reunite and that you would see the lost beloveds again," Phillips said.

Selections for "Poetry In Motion" are made by the Poetry Society of America.
