NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) — It's February, and NBA players are wearing warmup shirts commemorating Black History Month.
Nets point guard Jarrett Jack had his own special version on Monday night, with "month" crossed out and "YEARS" written below it.
"I thought it was a dope shirt," Jack said. "I thought the shirt made a dope statement, and that's just what I believe. I just think things shouldn't just be highlighted in any sort of time frame. I think we should celebrate everything as much as we can."
Jack made a statement on the floor, too.
He made a tiebreaking jumper with 1.3 seconds left, and the Nets used a late rally to beat the Clippers 102-100 at Barclays Center.
"It's gratifying, I think, to go through the bumps and the bruises and then to kind of get off the schneid in the fashion that we did against a really special team," Jack said.
