Pedestrian Hit And Killed By Van In Hauppauge
HAUPPAGE, NY (CBSNewYork) -- Police say a man was killed in Hauppauge when he was hit by a van.
Suffolk County police say 68-year-old Ronald Gatto was walking in the road on Veterans Highway just before 10 p.m. Thursday when he was hit.
Gatto was pronounced dead at the scene.
So far, no charges have been filed against the driver of the van, 59-year-old Thomas Martin.
The 2003 Chevrolet van was impounded for safety checks. The investigation is ongoing.
