Passenger Pulled From Plane At LaGuardia Reportedly Over Making Threat

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork)  -- A Spirit Airlines jet held on the tarmac at LaGuardia Airport due to a passenger threat has been cleared for takeoff, CBS 2 reported.

Flight 197, from LaGuardia to Fort Lauderdale, was scheduled to depart at  10:45 a.m. Monday.

However, a flight attendant overheard a passenger make a comment, and the flight was moved to a separate part of the runway on the west side of the airport.

"One passenger made what was perceived to be a threat, possibly to another passenger on board the plane. That threat was reported," according to CBS 2's Jim Smith.

Port Authority officers were at the scene investigating.

The passenger was removed from the plane and the flight was given the all clear shortly before 12:30 p.m.
