Oscar-Winning Actor's Daughter Gets Quite A Surprise From Banana Republic

SAN FRANCISCO (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Whose tie is it anyway?

A Cambridge, Mass., woman whose fiance ordered a tie and pocket square from Gap Inc. chain Banana Republic said they were astonished at what they got in the mail instead: Confidential employee files, including Social Security numbers, W2s, resignation letters and doctors' notes.

The package arrived at Emily Dreyfuss' home on Thursday. Dreyfuss, the daughter of Academy Award winning actor and Brooklyn native Richard Dreyfuss, said her fiance had ordered the tie and pocket square for the couple's July 5 wedding.

The parcel they got had three folders sealed with tape that said, "HR Administraton.'' Inside were handwritten resignation letters, salary information, dates of birth and other personal information for about 20 employees.

The employees were sales support associates and at least one made $9 an hour.

Dreyfuss said a Banana Republic representative has apologized for the mix-up.
