NYPD Internal Affairs Probes Video Of Cop Purportedly Hitting Hawks Player With Baton
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- NYPD Internal Affairs is investigating after video has surfaced apparently showing an officer smashing his baton into the leg of an NBA player outside a Manhattan club.
As 1010 WINS' Roger Stern reported, a video posted on TMZ appears to show the officer use his baton to hit Atlanta Hawks forward Thabo Sefolosha.

Sefolosha suffered a season-ending broken leg in the incident.
In the video, about a half a dozen cops can be seen trying to restrain Sefolosha, who is charged with obstruction in the incident, Stern reported.
The arrest happened near the 1OAK club on West 17th Street early Wednesday morning following the stabbing of Indiana Pacers forward Chris Copeland allegedly at the hands of another clubgoer.
Antic and Sefolosha were released without bail after a brief court appearance Wednesday.
Though Sefolosha and teammate Pero Antic, who was also arrested for alleged obstruction, were at 1 OAK the night of the stabbing, police said they were not there with Copeland.
Copeland's alleged assailant, 22-year-old Shevoy Bleary Murdock, faces charges of assault and criminal possession of a knife.
The NYPD told 1010 WINS the incident is under internal review.
