NYC Reading And Math Test Scores Available Online

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork/AP) -- Parents of New York City public school students will now be able to go online to see how their children performed on more rigorous state reading and math exams in the spring.

Up until this point, parents have had to call or visit their child's school to learn about their individual scores.

This week, education department employees will be available at "log on and learn'' sessions in public libraries to help parents get scores from the student information database Aris Parent Link.

Sessions will be held in a different borough each day. The sessions begin Monday in the Bronx.

Parents can call 212 374-4118 for more information.

Citywide, fewer third through eighth grade students passed the exams this year than last year.
