NYC DOT Releases Map Of Tentative Locations For Bike Sharing Program

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The New York City Department of Transportation has put out a list of more than 400 tentative locations for its bike sharing program.

New York City plans to eventually have 10,000 rent-a-bikes and 600 bike docking stations on the streets and sidewalks, making it the largest bike sharing program in the country.

The DOT has been working with community boards, politicians and the public to come up with appropriate spots.

The program's rollout will begin in July in sections of Brooklyn and Manhattan, with full rollout by about a year.
