LISTEN: WFAN's Eddie Coleman Says Mets Confident As Nationals Series Looms Large

NEW YORK (WFAN) -- With a couple of key series against the Washington Nationals coming up, the Mets are a confident bunch, WFAN Mets reporter Eddie Coleman said Friday.

"I think they feel that they're as good or better than Washington," Coleman said on Mike Francesa's show. "And that's the race they're going to have. And that's why these series coming up -- the three (games) at Citi Field and then, of course, the three down at Washington the following week -- it's going to be real fun to watch.

The Mets play at Colorado this weekend before they meet the Nationals for the first time this season starting Tuesday. Heading into Friday night's action, the Mets and Nationals, both 21-13, were tied for the lead in the National League East.

Coleman also discussed concerns over the long-term health of the Mets' rotation, as well as the injuries and early-season struggles of Wilmer Flores and Travis d'Arnaud.
