New York Jets Injury Report: Wilkerson Questionable, Harvin Probable

By Tyson Rauch

The New York Jets are taking a different approach with their players as both Muhammad Wilkerson and Percy Harvin are fighting their way through injuries with a goal of finishing out the season. Whether or not this is a smart decision by the organization remains to be seen, as there could be some serious financial ramifications if either of these players is lost for a long period of time.

Wilkerson questionable

New York Jets defensive end Muhammad Wilkerson is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the New England Patriots. Wilkerson, the Jets' best defensive lineman, continues to battle a toe injury and will more than likely see limited reps. Expect to see Quinton Coples platoon with Muhammad with a chance that rookies Trevor Reilly and IK Enemkpali receive some reps as well.

Harvin probable

Percy Harvin continues to prove his doubters wrong as he is playing through a severe ankle sprain. Harvin is listed as probable for Sunday, which will be a huge lift to both the offense and special teams. It would not be surprising to see the Jets limit Percy on returns in order to keep him fresh as a wide receiver and running back. New York has the option to use both T.J. Graham and Walt Powell on kickoffs in place of Percy Harvin.

Allen returns

Safety Antonio Allen will return from his hand injury on Sunday and is expected to see significant playing time. Allen will most likely cover the New England Patriots All-Pro tight end Rob Gronkowski, especially in obvious passing situations. Antonio has had modest success against Gronkowski in the past and will surely get tested early and often.
