New York City Urbanathlon Is This Saturday
NEW YORK (WCBS 880) - It's a race unlike any other.
The Urbanathlon, sponsored by Men's Health magazine, will be coming to Queens on Saturday.
Competitors will climb over a long series of city taxi cabs, crawl over city buses, and climb stairs at Citi Field and Arthur Ashe Stadium -- along with traditional challenges.

"The race is an event unlike anything I think that's out there," Gardiner said. "It's approximately 9 and a half mile race incorporating obstacles and, indeed, city landmarks as challenges within the race course."
Gardiner says being fit and a "little crazy" will help you get through the race.

The race will coincide with a day-long festival featuring live bands -- including an 80s cover band called Rubix Cube -- food tents, beer stations and activities for spectators.
Registration closes on Wednesday, October 26 at 8:00 p.m. To sign up, visit www.menshealthurbanathlon.com.
The event is in Flushing Meadows starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday.
