"What bed bugs look like at every stage in their life cycle. Where to find them. How to kind of smoke them out," Quinn added.

Quinn launched the site in cooperation with Council Member Gale Brewer and the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.

"If you're a bed bug in the city of New York, today could be your last day. We are biting back," Quinn said.

Some of the practical tips found on the site include:

- If you suspect you been around the pests, immediately wash and dry your clothes on hot settings. If you can't do that, seal the clothes in plastic bags until you can.

- Use a putty knife or old Metrocard to swipe along cracks and crevices to force bedbugs out. You can also use a hot hair dryer on low setting.

- Crush bed bugs with a paper towel and dispose of them outside of your building.
