Motorcyclist Hurt In Crash With Car In Suffolk County

KINGS PARK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) -- A man was seriously injured when Sunday afternoon when his motorcycle struck a vehicle with two 82-year-old sisters inside in Kings Park, Long Island.

Christopher Foster, 30, was riding his 2003 Yamaha motorcycle south on Indian Head Road in Kings Park when he struck a 2011 Honda being driven east on Hudson Road by Patricia Esculish, 82, according to Suffolk County police. Esculish was trying to make a left turn at the time.

Foster was airlifted to Stony Brook University Hospital in Stony Brook with serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries, police said. The sisters in the car -- Esculsh and Joan Chicosky, also 82 -- were taken by ambulance to St. Catherine of Siena Medical Center in Smithtown, where both were treated for minor injuries, police said.

Foster received traffic tickets for having an unregistered motor vehicle and an uninspected motor vehicle, and for operating a motor vehicle without insurance, police said.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks, and the investigation continued Sunday night. Anyone with information was asked to call the Suffolk County police Fourth Squad at (631) 854-8452 or anonymously call Crime Stoppers at (800) 220-TIPS.
