Manhattan-Bound Lanes Of Brooklyn Bridge Closed All Weekend

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - The Manhattan-bound lanes of the Brooklyn Bridge will be closed all weekend as part of the ongoing rehabilitation project on the iconic span.

The New York City Department of Transportation announced the Manhattan-bound lanes will be closed from 12:01 a.m. on Saturday until 6 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 28.

During the 54-hour closure, drivers heading to Manhattan are instead urged to use the Manhattan Bridge, Williamsburg Bridge or the Hugh L. Carey Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel.

Brooklyn-bound traffic will continue normally. The span's pedestrian path, bike path and pedestrian staircase at Frankfort Street in Manhattan will also remain open.

The Manhattan-bound lanes of the bridge have been closed over the past several weekends due to the construction.
