PORT WASHINGTON, NY (WCBS 880) -- A Long Island no-kill animal shelter is asking for donations of blankets and towels.
Some of the dogs and cats at the North Shore Animal League in Port Washington have been through some tough times, including abuse and neglect. That is why Cara Taback hopes generous people will make special donations.

"Dog beds, cat beds, fleece blanket,s new and gently used towels," said Taback.
And as you drop off the pet supplies, there are a few pets at North Shore that have been overlooked, including Yoda the pug.
"He is 13-years-old and is blind and deaf," said Taback. "The family had abandoned Yoda and left him tied to a tree and we would love to find a good home for him."
