LIRR Derailment May Cause Morning Delays
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Long Island Rail Road riders should allow extra time and expect delays and cancellations Tuesday morning, following a derailment.
A non-passenger LIRR train derailed on the tracks west of Jamaica Station Monday evening.
Crews were set to work through the night to clear up the derailed cars and repair track damage, but riders should allow extra travel time and expect delays and cancellations, CBS 2 reported.
It was not immediately learned whether the icy and slippery road conditions caused by the later winter storm Monday night caused the derailment.
