Coronavirus Update: Lincoln Center Launches 'Lincoln Center At Home' With Classes, Performances

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) - Amid the coronavirus pandemic, New York's arts community is finding new ways to reach their audiences - especially children.

Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts announced Tuesday they are launching "Lincoln Center at Home."

It's an online program which will include virtual classrooms, performances and archival performance footage.

Part of the program is a daily weekday pop-up classroom, which can watched live Monday-Friday at 10 a.m. by clicking here.

Lincoln Center Pop-Up Classroom: Paper Weaving Workshop with Ms. Taryn

As a part of #LincolnCenterAtHome, Lincoln Center Pop-Up Classroom brings you your daily dose of creative art-making. Every weekday morning at 2:00 pm EDT, a Lincoln Center Teaching Artist leads families and kids in a workshop that uses simple materials found at home. In today's lesson, Ms. Taryn guides learners in a workshop that makes woven works of art using recycled materials. For this workshop, you will need: - A few sheets of paper (of all colors, shapes, sizes) - Writing utensil - Glue/tape - Scissors that are safe to use (or you can choose to tear with your hands) - Ruler (optional)
