Lake Ronkonkoma Man Arrested For DWI Had 23 License Suspensions

YAPHANK, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) - This is one driver who was not supposed to be on the road.

Suffolk County Police say they pulled over Kurt Knoernschild after they spotted his 1993 Chevy pick-up turning left through a red light at around 1:45 a.m.

Police say Knoernschild was driving erratically when he was pulled over.

A check of his identification revealed Knoernschild had 23 suspensions on his license, which had also been revoked due to prior DWI convictions.

The incident took place at the intersection of County Road 83 and Coram-Mt. Sinai Road.

Police say Knoernschild was arrested and charged with Felony Driving While Intoxicated and Feloney Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle 1st Degree. He's being arraigned today.

Knoernschild's pick-up was seized.
